Ribbon Blender comprises of a U-shaped horizontal
trough and a specially designed Double Helical Ribbon rotating within.
Each set having one inner and one outer Ribbon. Both the sets are
accurately positioned and oppositely pitched on the Agitator shaft to
prevent localized accumulation and effect good mixing of the products.
In the ribbon blender powder is mixed horizontally as well as
vertically. Ribbon blenders are suitable for free to cohesive type of
powder and can handle varying densities. The Mixture typically has a single Trough with an
impeller that consists of a single shaft with plough on it at regular
pitch in between. This plough can be oriented so as to impart lateral &
axial Mixing. The motion of the powder in the mixture results in
convective mixing whose intensity is proportional to the tip of the
speed at impeller. The mixing elements are specially designed to lift
the material from the inside wall of the container without squashing the
particles against the wall.

This Mixture consists of twin trough each fitted with
a rotating agitator and each one of these agitator is a heavy duty Z
shaped Blade. The product is introduced from the top of the mixture and
same access is used to clean the mixture. While in operation the product
is loaded up to 40% to 65% of the mixture capacity. The blade can
overlap & rotate at same speed or variable speed. In Z
blade two counter rotating Z-blades fold and shear the material quiet
severely. The close clearance produces a shearing and tearing action
that is beneficial to the size reduction of solids. These are seldom
used for dry solids, but are used for producing dough & thick
viscous paste.
The mixture can be tilted for discharge, be equipped with bottom discharge door or auxiliary screw discharge. In the later case, the screw is rotated inward during the mixing cycle to provide additional mixing action & then reversed for discharge. Special Features :

V-blender, are simple in concept and commonly used in
industrial processes. They are employed to mix pharmaceuticals,
chemicals, food, fertilizers, plastics and many other particulate
materials.
V-blenders consist of two cylindrical sections joined at an angle of around 90o. The mixer is rotated about a horizontal axis, with mixing resulting from the tumbling motion of the particles. Double Cone Blender is an efficient for mixing dry
powder and granulates homogeneously. Generally 33-45 % of the volume of
the Cone Blender is filled to ensure proper mixing. The shape of blender
body results in a near complete discharge of product material, clearly
an added advantage over horizontal blender
The double cone blender consists of two cone shaped sections typically with 45 Degree slopes. Two cone sections are welded at their ends with centre band. The blender tumbles and material in that spreads out. The transition area at the band between prevents the material from sliding along the inner wall and instead causes the material to fold over itself.
